Uniondale, NY: The Entertainment Football Association has named Peter Schwartz as the General Manager of the Long Island franchise that will play at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum as part of the ENTFLA’s inaugural season starting this June. He will oversee the entire operations of the franchise including the hiring of the team’s first Head Coach.

“I’m excited to be a part of the return of Arena Football to Long Island and the Nassau Coliseum,” said Schwartz. “Arena Football has always held a special place in my heart and now I’m looking forward to building a great organization and to make this a true community team. I want to thank Doug Freeman, Commissioner Andre Reed and League Advisor Tommy Benizio for this amazing opportunity.”

Schwartz, an on-air personality for WFAN Radio in New York, worked for the Dragons throughout their team’s eight-year history in the Arena Football League from 2001 to 2008 as their Radio Play-by-Play Announcer, Website Host and Writer and Youth Football Coordinator. From 2006 to 2008, he also worked for the league as a website writer, show host and the play-by-play voice for the national radio broadcast of the ArenaBowl.

“We are thrilled to have Peter on board as GM for our Long Island franchise,” said ENTFLA Founder Douglas Freeman. With his prior experience in Arena Football, his familiarity to the Long Island market and his connections to the local football community, we feel that he is the right person to launch our fourth and final team for the 2025 season.”

Peter’s Arena Football experience also includes covering the New York CityHawks of the AFL in 1997 and 1998 and handling television play-by-play and website writing duties for the New York Streets of the National Arena League in 2019.

“Long Island is going to fall in love with our team,” said Schwartz. “With the ENTFLA’s gameday experience of a tailgate party, game and concert, we are going to rock “The Barn” with fans of all ages. Arena Football has a rich history at the Coliseum and we are ready to create even more memories.”

Schwartz is a graduate of East Meadow High School on Long Island as well as Buffalo State College. He resides on Long Island with his wife Sheryl and their sons Bradley and Jared.

Season tickets are now available for the 2025 season. fans can get ticket information and submit their ideas for team name, colors and uniform designs at the league’s website www.goentfla.com. The team’s name and logo will be revealed next month.
